Nissan Motor Co.’s Infiniti unit will manufacture a production version of the concept Qs Inspiration electric sedan in China for the local market.
The carmaker will publicly unveil the concept at this month’s Shanghai auto show. Sales are expected to start in about three years.
The Qs and other upcoming models will ride on a dedicated platform Infiniti is developing for electrified vehicles, according to the carmaker. The chassis will accommodate parallel- and series-hybrid architectures, with the battery packaged underneath the floorboard.
Infiniti says the concept car is equipped with all-wheel drive but didn’t provide any performance information. The company also promises a “significantly” different interior design for the Qs.
