Nissan Motor Co.'s Infiniti brand has hired Vincent Gillet, a specialist in marketing luxury brands, to become its vice president for marketing next month.
Gillet will be based at the brand's global headquarters in Hong Kong. He will report to Infiniti President Johan de Nysschen, who has been building a global management team since he was put in charge of the marque in June 2012.
De Nysschen says Gillet will help position Infiniti as a "provocative alternative" to the existing premium brands.
Gillet has been serving as global brand leader for the Starwood Group's W and le Meridien hotels. His past jobs include stints as brand manager for champagne producers Moet & Chandon and Mumm, as well as Stolichnaya Russian vodka. Gillet also was chief marketing officer for Six Senses Hotels & Spas.
