Passenger vehicle sales in India, which have declined every month since August, slipped again in February, according to the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers.

SIAM says last month’s volume dipped 1% to 172,300 vehicles. Demand for commercial vehicles slipped less than 1% to 87,000 units.

The Mumbai-based Economic Times says carmakers don’t expect sales will rally until after India’s general elections in April and May.
