South Africa’s economy this year is likely to grow at its slowest pace since the 2009 recession, according to government and central bank forecasts. Bloomberg notes that car sales in the country plummeted to a 22-year low in May. The National Assn. of Automobile Manufacturers of South Africa predicts full-year volume will contract for the second consecutive year.
