General Motors Co. plans to recall some 155,000 vehicles in India to repair a wiring flaw that could lock customers out of their cars.
The campaign, which is GM India's largest ever, targets 2007-2014 model Chevrolet Spark and Beat mini-hatchbacks and Enjoy small MPVs. All affected vehicles are equipped with remote-control door locks.
GM says the system itself meets regulatory standards. The recall will remedy a wiring fault that could make the electronic locks fail in the locked position.
