General Motors Co. expects China's car market to expand 8%-10% in 2014. The company tells reporters it may top that range, thanks to a bevy of 19 new or updated models.
GM and its joint-venture partners sold a record 3.16 million vehicles in China last year, up 11% from its volume in 2012.
But demand for the company's Chevrolet vehicles rose only 8.5% to 652,100 units last year. CEO Mary Barra predicts stronger growth in 2014 as GM rolls out six revised Chevy models.
The company also expects to push Cadillac sales in China to 100,000 units by the end of 2015, double its volume in 2013.
