General Motors Co. is issues a global recall covering a variety of crossovers, SUVs, vans and pickup trucks to replace chassis control modules that could short circuit and cause the vehicle to stall, the Associated Press reports.

The campaign will cover 117,700 vehicles, more than 80% of them in the U.S.

Affected models are 2013-2014 Buick Enclave crossovers; Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban and traverse SUV/crossovers, Express vans and Silverado pickup trucks; GMC Acadia and Yukon SUV/crossovers Savana vans and Sierra pickup trucks; and Cadillac Escalade SUVs.

GM tells the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that short circuits may be caused in about 1% of the recalled vehicles by errant metal slivers in the module.
