GM Readies Recall of Cars, SUV/Crossovers to Fix Headlamps

General Motors Co. is preparing to recall 316,400 of its 2006-2009 cars and crossovers to repair control modules that may shut off the low-beam headlamps.
Almost all the vehicles are in North America. They include 2006-2007 Chevrolet TrailBlazer and GMC Envoy SUVs and Buick Rainier crossovers; 2006-2009 model Buick LaCrosse sedans; and 2006-2008 Saab 9-7X and Isuzu Ascender SUVs.
GM notes that the problem does not affect performance of other exterior lamps, including the high-beam headlights.
The new recall brings to 30.4 million the number of vehicles GM has recalled since February.
