Jim Glynn, a 34-year General Motors Co. veteran, has been appointed vice president of North American labor relations.

Glynn has been GM's North America manufacturing manager since June 2010.

He replaces Cathy Clegg, who is named GM global manufacturing engineering chief. Clegg succeeds Eric Stevens, who is retiring after 35 years at GM.

Both appointments take effect immediately.

In her new job, Clegg will oversee manufacturing engineering responsibilities for assembly, automotive press, body, controls, body, paint, powertrain and global program management.
