Fuji Electric Co. and Infineon Technologies AG have agreed to use the same dimensions, pin positions and other features for power modules used in hybrid and electric vehicles.

The deal creates two sources for Infineon's HybridPACK2 modules, which can handle as much as 100 kW of continuous power and maximum chip rates of 800 amps and 650 volts. The company says its design is 20% smaller and one-third lighter than rival modules.
