A former Suzuki Motors Corp. analyst in California has pleaded guilty to falsifying motorcycle emission results and violating the U.S. Clean Air Act.

Wayne Powell, who was a government relations analyst at the time, admits filing the bogus report in 2014 after discovering in 2013 that Suzuki lacked enough credits to cover the emission overage, Reuters reports. The paperwork covers more than 23,000 of the company’s 2012 model motorcycles.

Reuters says Powell faces as much as two years in prison after a plea bargain filed in the U.S. District Court in Detroit.
