Ford Recalls 271,000 F-150 Pickup Trucks

Ford Motor Co. says it will recall 270,900 of its F-150 fullsize pickup trucks in North America to replace leaky brake master cylinders.
The campaign will cover 2013-2014 models equipped with 3.5-liter V-6 turbocharged EcoBoost gasoline engines sold in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. Ford says it is aware of nine accidents but no injuries associated with the problem.
Dealers will replace the master cylinder to eliminate a defect that could allow brake fluid to seep into the brake booster, thereby increasing the brake pedal pressure required to stop the vehicle. Dealers also will replace the booster if they detect leakage.
