Ford Motor Co. has appointed Steve Hood to the newly created job of director of electrified vehicle in Europe, effective immediately.
Hood previously was Ford’s vice president of marketing, sales and service with the company’s Changan Ford joint venture in China.
The 33-year Ford veteran will head the company’s European EV strategy, new-business models and efforts to expand the company’s portfolio of electrified vehicles and services to support them. Ford expects to spend some $11 billion on electrification by 2022. The company plans to introduce an all-electric SUV in Europe in 2020.
Hood reports to Ted Cannis, global director for electrified vehicles, and Steven Armstrong, president of Ford’s operations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
