Ford Motor Co. says it will eliminate two-thirds of the workforce—more than 1,100 jobs—at its engine plant in Bridgend, U.K., by 2021 unless it can find new contracts for the facility. the Financial Times reports, citing a report Ford showed to workers.

The Welsh facility currently makes 4-cylinder Sigma gasoline engines for Ford and V-6 and V-8 engines for Jaguar Land Rover.

But FT says the factory will switch to Ford’s Dragon engine in 2018 but produce only 25% as many. And JRL expects to end its agreement with Ford in 2020 and begin making its own engines at a new factory in Wolverhampton, England.

Ford tells workers two production changes would leave the factory with only 600 employees. The plant’s United union says the company warns it doesn’t have replacement programs.
