Ford Cuts Focus EV Price Again
Ford Motor Co. has slashed the retail price of its Focus Electric sedan again, this time by $6,000 to $30,000, according to Leftlane News, which cites a dealer document.

Ford Motor Co. has slashed the retail price of its Focus Electric sedan again, this time by $6,000 to $30,000, according to Leftlane News, which cites a dealer document.
Last year Ford trimmed the Focus EV's price by $4,000. The latest reduction will apply to 2014 and 2015 models and make the car more competitive with a similarly equipped Nissan Leaf electric sedan.
Demand for the EV has been disappointing. Ford has sold only about 4,000 of the cars over the past four years. In 2013 it sold 234,600 piston-powered versions of the Focus.
The Focus Electric is powered by a 23-kWh lithium-ion battery that can propel the car about 76 miles per charge. Top speed is 84 mph, and the car has an estimated city efficiency rating of 110 mpg-e from the Environmental Protection Agency.
