Volvo Car Corp.’s first electric vehicle will ride on the carmaker’s compact modular architecture (CMA) and feature styling based on last year’s 40.2 concept EV, Autocar reports.
Volvo said earlier that it will launch its first EV in 2019, but it hasn’t provided details. Multiple battery packs are expected to be offered, with top-end variants enabling driving ranges of 300 miles or more.
Last summer Volvo said it will use hybrid or all-electric powerplants in all its new models. The plan includes five such models through 2021.
