Fiat SpA, which owns 58.5% of Chrysler Group LLC, expects to buy the rest of the company by 2014 a year sooner than it previously forecast.
At an auto forum in Turin, Italy, Fiat-Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne predicts Fiat will resolve its dispute with the union-run retiree healthcare trust that owns the 41.5% stake. The parties have been unable to agree on a price for the shares.
Completing the acquisition would clear the way for the two companies to fully merge.
