Ferrari NV says it is on track to launch a hybrid-powered supercar early next year and add an all-electric model by about 2022.

The vehicles are part of Ferrari’s plan to shift to electrified and other higher-margin models. By 2022, the company intends to offer hybrid variants across 60% of its lineup.

The all-new hybrid, which teams a mid-engine V-8 with an electric motor, will be more efficient than the previous LaFerrari hybrid. That vehicle, which was produced in limited numbers between 2013 and 2016, was powered by a V-12 and an electric motor that generated a combined 968 hp.

Ferrari sold a record 9,250 vehicles last year, up 10% from 2017 levels. The company says volume may surpass 10,000 units this year with the addition of new models such as the Monza SP1/SP2 supercars.
