Federal-Mogul Motorparts has hired Laura Soave to be its top marketing and communications officer, effective immediately.
Motorparts, the aftermarket business unit of Federal-Mogul Holdings Corp., says Soave brings considerable expertise in data analytics and brand management. She will directly lead marketing initiatives in North America and oversee the unit's brand management worldwide.
The unit's brands include Anco wiper blades, Champion spark plugs, Sealed Power engine parts and Wagoner brake components.
Soave is a past brand manager at Ford and general manager of "experiential marketing" at Volkswagen of America. She joined Chrysler Group four years ago to debut the Fiat 500 minicar in the U.S. but left in late 2011 after the car's disappointing launch.
Federal-Mogul said last month it would spin off its Motorparts unit next year to form two publicly traded companies.
