Industrial output in Germany unexpectedly dipped a seasonally adjusted 0.1% from October to November, according to the country's Federal Statistical Office. Economists had expected production to grow 0.3%.

The bureau also says exports in November fell 2% to €95 billion. Imports rose nearly 2% to €78 billion, thus narrowing the country's trade surplus.

Germany is scheduled to report year-end growth numbers for gross domestic product on Jan. 15.
