Three major industry groups representing Europe's carmakers, suppliers and electric utilities say it is "urgent" that the European Commission set a single standard for the plug system used to recharge electric vehicles throughout the region.
ACEA, Europe's carmaker association, and CLEPA, which represents the region's suppliers, have already co-signed a position paper on the issue. EURELECTRIC, the utility association, has issued its own paper that reflects the same solution.
The three groups say the EC should implement a cross-border standard "without further delay" to enable the speedy development of a viable e-mobility market in Europe.
