Audi AG plans to add electrified performance vehicles to its Audi Sport lineup early next decade.

Volkswagen AG’s Audi Sport (formerly Quattro GmbH) unit will launch an unspecified battery-electric model in 2020.
Winkelmann tells Autocar that additional plug-in hybrid and pure-electric vehicles will follow in subsequent years. He also asserts that turbocharged engines will continue to play an important part of future Audi Sport vehicles. “We are not forgetting our icons,” he declares.
The renamed unit previously has said it plans to introduce eight new models by the end of the decade. Many of the new vehicles will be crossover/SUV models, according to Winklemann, who will move from Audi Sport to head the VW Group’s Bugatti unit next month.
