Last month Mini confirmed it will build the electric car at its main plant in Oxford, England, starting in 2019. BMW will produce the car’s electric drivetrain at two of its facilities in Germany.
BMW has said it expects as much as 25% of its sales to come from electrified vehicles by 2025. The carmaker launched a plug-in hybrid of the Mini Countryman earlier this year.
