Delphi’s First-Quarter Income Doubles

Delphi Automotive plc’s net income doubled to $425 million in the first quarter of 2016, aided by sales growth and acquisitions. Revenue rose 7% to $4.1 billion.
The U.K.-based supplier of vehicle electronics says its net income from continuing operations in January-March grew 11% to $320 million. Adjusted operating income climbed 8% to $509 million. Delphi reports gains in North America, Europe and Asia Pacific.
The company expects full-year revenue of about $16.8 billion and an adjusted operating income of about $2.2 billion. Those targets compare with $15.2 billion and $2 billion, respectively, in 2015.
