Both models will be publicly introduced in September at the Paris auto show. The cars, which share their platform with the redesigned Renault Twingo, will be produced in Renault's Twingo plant in Novo Mesto, Slovenia.

The video shows a more horizontal new "face" for the Smart minicars, which have not been significantly restyled since the second-generation ForTwo two-seater debuted in 2007. Other exterior changes suggested by the video include multi-lens headlamps, complex layers taillamps, a more pronounced hood and a wider stance.

The video reveals an interior that features shell-like seats, an oval instrument panel with round instruments, an ornamented shift lever and hexagonal cutouts in the roof liner.
