The car is being developed by BYD Daimler New Technology Co. Ltd., a 50:50 joint venture the companies set up in May 2010. The partnership is chaired by Ulrich Walker, chairman and CEO of Daimler's northeast Asian operations.
BYD-Daimler will debut the EV as a Denza concept vehicle at the Beijing auto show on April 23. The partners plan to put the car into production in 2013.
