Expectations for economic growth in Germany dropped again in June, marking the sixth consecutive monthly decline, according to the ZEW Indicator of Economic Sentiment.
The economic institute's monthly index, which plunged more than 10 points in May, slipped another 3.3 points this month to 29.8.
ZEW says the shrinking expectations index signals that the investment community believes further increases are becoming more difficult. But the institute notes that the German economy is strong, and it points out that its index of current conditions rose 5.6 points to 67.6 this month.
A separate ZEW index of economic expectations for eurozone is a 58.4, up 3.2 points from May. The indicator for current conditions fell 2.1 points to 27.7.
