Chrysler Upgrades Uconnect Infotainment System
Fiat Chrysler Automobile NV is adding several new features to its Uconnect infotainment system that will be available on most 2016 Chrysler, Dodge and Ram trucks equipped with an 8.4-inch touch screen.

Fiat Chrysler Automobile NV is adding several new features to its Uconnect infotainment system that will be available on most 2016 Chrysler, Dodge and Ram trucks equipped with an 8.4-inch touch screen.
The company also will offer updateable digital owner's manuals customized to vehicle identification numbers for the 2016 Chrysler 300, and Dodge Charger and Challenger cars.
The other New Uconnect features include:
- drag and drop menus, which allow users to customize the main menu bar with the icons of their most-used apps.
- Apple's Siri Eyes Free, which lets users with iPhones use voice commands to access and control various Uconnect functions.
- Do Not Disturb, which routes all incoming calls to voice mail, suppresses text messages and can provide an optional automated reply message.
- SiriusXM Tune Start, which allows users to hear songs from the beginning when switching between certain satellite radio channels.
- new software and advanced algorithms, which have been integrated to improve voice recognition accuracy, navigation routes, search and playing of songs and the quality and clarity of hands-free phone calls.
FCA says it also is enhancing Uconnect's graphics to incorporate individual vehicle brand themes and characteristics. In addition, interfaces are designed to be more intuitive and help motorists more effectively use the Uconnect system.
