A poll unveiled earlier today by the American Chamber of Commerce in China finds 60% of respondents feeling less welcome compared with 41% who thought so late last year. Half feel foreign companies are being targeted by anti-monopoly agencies.
China's foreign minister and the National Development and Reform Commission dismiss the claims as groundless. They say China is applying its laws equitably.
Chamber Chair Greg Gilligan reports that his group's members strive for compliance but complain many China rules are "highly opaque and difficult to anticipate."
