Changan Auto Launches $2.7 Billion “Green” Car Program
Chongqing Changan Automobile Co. says it intends to spend 18 billion yuan ($2.7 billion) between now and 2025 to develop electrified vehicles for the Chinese market.

Chongqing Changan Automobile Co. says it intends to spend 18 billion yuan ($2.7 billion) between now and 2025 to develop electrified vehicles for the Chinese market.
During that period the company plans to debut 34 plugin and all-electric models and accumulate sales of 2 million “green vehicles, President Zhu Huarong tells a conference in Chongqing. He says EVs will account for about 80% of the electrified vehicles, which will be sold under the Changan brand.
Zhu says Chongqing Changan will rely on Ford Motor Co., a partner in the production of conventional vehicles in China, for such key powertrain components as batteries and power control systems.
