Group sales by Robert Bosch GmbH climbed 6% to €48.9 billion in 2014, led by 9% growth in its automotive business to €33.3 billion.

CEO Volkmar Denner expects the company's auto-related sales to reach €37 billion this year. Bosch will report full financial results in April.

Last year Bosch's automotive business grew at twice the rate of the auto industry itself. Sales rose 17% in Asia Pacific, 9% in North America and 2% in Europe.

Much of the company's success in the automotive sector reflects strong global demand for its gasoline and diesel fuel injection systems. But the Denner predicts future growth will be increasingly aided by the Bosch's expanding in-car electronics, sensor and radar products.
