Bollore Group will spend €150 million to expand a network of charging stations across France over the next four years, Reuters reports.
The company announced the plan after the French government agreed to back the network. Reuters notes that public funding for EV charging facilities in France has lagged government targets.
Bollore says the extended network will put at least one charging facility within 40 km of any point in the country.
Bollore's Blue Solutions unit currently operates a fleet of car-sharing vehicles in Bordeaux, Lyon and Paris under the Autolib EV brand. Last autumn Renault SA agreed to supply Bollore's four-seat Bluecar EVs. The companies also launched a venture to expand EV car-sharing services throughout Europe.
