Bollinger Motors LLC says it has collected 10,000 no-deposit reservations for the boxy B1 electric SUV it unveiled in July.
The primitively appointed vehicle will be presented in production form at the Specialty Equipment Manufacturers Assn. show in Las Vegas at the end of October.
Bollinger hasn’t yet announced pricing or indicated when it will begin building the B1. But the Hobart, N.Y.-based company plans to begin accepting $1,000 down payments next year.
The B1 is an all-wheel-drive five-seater with a two-motor powertrain that delivers 360 hp and 472 lb-ft of torque. The vehicle’s driving range is 120 miles or 200 miles, depending upon whether the SUV is fitted with a 60-kWh or 100kWh battery.
The company claims the 3,900-lb, aluminum-intensive vehicle can zip from zero to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 127 mph. The B1 targets ranchers, builders and off-road enthusiasts.
