BMW AG has trademarked the names of nine potential future electrified vehicles under its “i” sub-brand, Auto Express reports.

Ranging from iX1 to iX9, the trademarks suggest BMW is readying several electric-powered crossover/SUVs. The carmaker launched the i3 electric small car and i8 hybrid supercar in 2013 and 2014, respectively. In BMW’s naming convention, “X” signifies an SUV or crossover model.

BMW previously has said it is developing an electric version of its X3 crossover, which likely will be called the iX3. That vehicle is due to bow in 2019. The other iX models also are expected to be derived from conventionally powered counterparts indicated by their numerical designations.
