Surging demand for trucks and SUVs helped multiply four-quarter net earnings last year for American Axle & Manufacturing Holdings Inc. to $63 million from $13 million in 2014.
Revenue in October-December grew 2% to $958 million, and operating income more than doubled to $87 million.
For the full year, AAM’s net income soared by two-thirds to a $236 million on record sales of $3.9 billion, up 6%. Revenue from customers other than General Motors Co. rose 10% to $1.3 billion.
