The New Explorer & Everything That’s Old Is. . .
As we await the sixth-generation 2020 Ford Explorer, it is interesting to note how there are some things coincident with its past and today. 2020 Ford Explorer The first two generations of the vehicle, which was launched in 1990, were based on the Ford Ranger platform. 2019 Ford Ranger The Ranger went out of production at the end of 2011.

2020 Ford Explorer

2019 Ford Ranger
The Ranger went out of production at the end of 2011. But it came back as a 2019 model year vehicle.
2020 Lincoln Aviator
From 2002 to 2005 the Lincoln Aviator and the Explorer shared a platform. And that was the end of the Aviator. . .until now, as later this year the 2020 Lincoln Aviator will return.
And it will share a platform with the Explorer.
