Demand for Volkswagen brand cars in the U.S. fell nearly 8% in the first four months of 2015. But VW says it won't lower prices to improve its volume in the market.

Volkswagen Group sales chief Christian Klingler says the company will continue value margins over market share. VW imports only about 13% of the cars in sells in the U.S., thus making the company relatively unaffected by fluctuations in exchange rates.

Last year VW's volume fell 10% to 367,000 units, according to Autodata Corp.

Klingler predicts sales of VW brand vehicles in the U.S. this year will approximately equal 2013's volume of 367,000 units.
