VW Seeks to Sell Stake in Dutch Leasing Firm
Volkswagen AG is in talks to sell its 50% stake in LeasePlan Corp.
Volkswagen AG is in talks to sell its 50% stake in LeasePlan Corp. NV, a Dutch fleet management company, The Wall Street Journal reports.
VW owns the stake through Global Mobility Holding BV, which is 50% owned by Germany banker Friedrich von Metzler. The carmaker acquired its holding in 2004 as part of a €2 billion deal to buy LeasePlan from Dutch bank ABN Amro.
LeasePlan, which provided few details about the possible divestiture, says the talks may or may not result in an agreement.
