VW May Boost MAN stake to 75%
Volkswagen AG says it may increase its stake in truckmaker MAN SE to 75% or more from about 74% now, says truck chief Jochem Heizmann.
Volkswagen AG says it may increase its stake in truckmaker MAN SE to 75% or more from about 74% now, says truck chief Jochem Heizmann.
MAN said earlier this week that VW had hiked its voting stake to 73% from 59.6%
By owning at least three-quarters of MAN's shares, VW would gain full control of the company and be able to book all of MAN's profits.
Heizmann says VW is still studying how to merge its own truck operations with MAN and Scania AB. VW and MAN own 71.8% and 17.4% of Scania, respectively. VW has said a three-way merger could save at least €200 million per year in the mid-term on purchasing, production and R&D.
