VW May Boost MAN Stake Further
Volkswagen AG, which hiked its stake in MAN AG to 75.03% from 73.8% earlier this month, intends to buy additional voting stock within the next 12 months, according to the Munich-based truckmaker.
Volkswagen AG, which hiked its stake in MAN AG to 75.03% from 73.8% earlier this month, intends to buy additional voting stock within the next 12 months, according to the Munich-based truckmaker.
VW will make the purchase to increase cooperation among its truck unit and those of MAN and Scania AB, in which VW also owns a controlling stake, MAN says.
Because the auto giant owns more than 75% of MAN, it already can seek full control of the truckmaker through a domination agreement that would give VW full access to MAN's finances. VW declared earlier this month it is keeping all its options open to forge an integrated truck group.
