VW Group Sales Surpass 10 Million Units

Volkswagen Group delivered a record 10.14 million cars, vans and commercial trucks in 2014 compared with 9.73 million units in 2013. December sales rose 3% to 881,000 units.

Sales chief Christian Klingler notes that the group as doubled its sales volume in 10 years. The company hopes to outsell industry leader Toyota Motor Corp. before 2018.

VW Group sales in Asia Pacific climbed 11% to 4.06 million units last year. They grew 5% to 3.95 million in Europe. Volume in North America was flat at 891,900 and fell 2% to 599,700 in the U.S. Demand in South America plunged 20% to 795,700 units in South America.
