Volkswagen AG says worldwide deliveries by its 12 vehicle brands were flat at 853,300 units last month.

VW brand car sales in April fell 4% to 476,700 units. The decline offset hefty gains by the group’s Audi (+8% to 164,300 vehicles) and Skoda (+6% to 97,200) nameplates. Last month’s sales were flat for SEAT and Porsche.

April sales climbed 4% to 374,500 units in Europe. Demand was unchanged at 295,300 vehicles in China. Deliveries in North America gained 5% to 82,300 units, as a 4% decline in the U.S. was offset by strong growth in Mexico. Volume in South America plunged 18% to 38,900 cars.

Group sales through the first four months of 2016 expanded less than 1% to 3.36 million vehicles. VW brand sales fell 2% during the period, offset by 5% gains for Audi and Skoda.
