Volkswagen Group reports its car and commercial truck sales in September declined to 885,300 units from 898,700 in the same period in 2014.

The total was dragged down by lower demand for VW brand passenger vehicles, which fell 4% to 513,500 units. September sales rose for Audi (+7% to 170,900 units), Porsche (+29% to 20,500) and Scania commercial vehicles (+1% to 7,200). But deliveries dropped for Skoda (-2% to 93,600 units), SEAT (-9% to 33,100), VW commercial vehicles (-3% to 36,300) and MAN commercial trucks (-12% to 9,000).

By region, VW Group sales advanced in Europe (+4% to 375,100 units) and North America (+6% to 74,800). Volumes fell in Asia Pacific (-1% to 353,700) and South America (-33% to 48,200).

VW’s group sales in January-September totaled 7.43 million cars and trucks compared with 7.54 million units in 2014.
