VW Group Aims for Sales Record as Growth Slows

Volkswagen Group sales advanced only 1% to 834,800 vehicles in November. But the company predicts it will end the year above 10 million units for the first time.

Group sales through the first 11 months of 2014 totaled 9.08 million cars and VW-brand commercial vehicles, up 5%. Full-year volume was 9.70 million in 2013. Results omit heavy truck sales by the group's MAN and Scania units.
Group sales in January-November rose 6% to 3.55 million vehicles in Europe and 13% to 3.34 million units in China. Volume fell 3% to 542,600 in the U.S. and plunged 16% to 522,000 in Brazil.
VW brand cars advanced 2% to 5.59 million in the 11-month period. Audi climbed 10% to 1.59 million. Skoda surged 12% to 955,300, and SEAT grew 11% to 359,400. Porsche rose 15% to 169,200.
VW commercial vehicle sales through November dropped 4% to 401,400 worldwide. But they grew nearly 5% to 297,700 in Europe and 8% to 20,300 in Asia Pacific.
