VW Brand Sales Stall in October

Worldwide sales of Volkswagen brand passenger vehicles in October totaled 517,400 units, down 1,900 from a year earlier, according to Volkswagen Group. But volume through the first 10 months of 2014 climbed to a record 5.08 million units.

The brand reiterates its forecast that full-year sales will top 6 million units for the first time ever.

VW sales in January-October rose 12% to 2.47 million vehicle in Asia and 3% to 1.40 million units in Europe. Demand plunged 19% to 547,700 in South America and declined 7% to 482,300 in North America.
