Global sales of Volkswagen AG's namesake brand vehicles fell to 558,600 units in March from 563,600 a year earlier. The company says results were hurt by slumping demand in Brazil and Russia.

VW brand sales in the first quarter of 2015 also slipped 1% to 1.48 million units. Volume rose 2% to 430,300 units in Europe. But VW deliveries in January-March declined in China (-1% to 678,400 units), Brazil (-18% to 98,000) and the U.S. (-9% to 87,300).
