Prosecutors in South Korea claim Volkswagen AG’s business unit there falsified emission and noise tests for 26 imported models, the Yonhap News Agency reports.
An unidentified Bloomberg News source adds that the prosecutors’ office in Seoul plans to summon VW executives next week for questioning.
Bloomberg notes that in May prosecutors raided VW’s office in Seoul along with two agencies that process fuel-economy certifications, looking for evidence that the company may have forged fuel-economy test results. VW says it will cooperate with the investigation.
