Volvo Car Corp. released three teaser images of a new concept vehicle considered likely previews of the carmaker’s next V40 sedan and XC40 crossover vehicle.
Volvo describes the concept model as "the future of Volvo" and "not your daddy's Volvo." The company didn’t provide any other details, but it plans to unveil the full vehicle later this month in Sweden.
The new 40 series models, which the carmaker says will be launched “soon,” will ride on Volvo’s upcoming Compact Modular Architecture. They likely will compete against the Audi Q3, BMW 1 Series and Lexus NX.
The teaser images show Volvo’s distinct LED headlights, rectangular grille, large air intakes and a sculpted hood. Black plastic body cladding surround the wheel arches.
