Volvo Car Corp. says CEO Stefan Jacoby has taken a one-month sick leave following a mild stroke last week.
CFO Jan Gurander is serving as interim CEO. The company says sales chief Doug Speck also will assume some of Jacob's duties at Volvo, a unit of Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Co.
Jacoby, 54, says in a statement that he has limited movement in his right arm and leg but is already experiencing some improvement. He adds that he will remain in touch with Volvo's management and board during his recuperation.
Jacoby joined Volvo in January 2010 from Volkswagen AG, where he headed the U.S. unit.
