Volkswagen Group reports its VW brand saw deliveries of passenger cars shrink nearly 7% to 1.30 million in the first half of 2015. It reportedly was the first year-on-year decline for the period in a decade.

The slump in China caused VW brand deliveries in the Asia-Pacific region to fall 6% to 1.41 million in January-June.

Six-month declines in China, South America (-22% to 247,900) and the U.S. (-3% to 174,400) were partly offset by growth in Europe (+8% to 485,200). Canada and Mexico also posted double-digit increases in VW car sales.
